funny/silly kid Qs. My 16yo says he found a new very cool software package that lets him do a lot with video and photo editing, but he figures it's too expensive because it costs same as a streaming service. I'm thinking, "Which would I rather have my kid doing?"

This article (sorry, paywall) is interesting in that it talks a lot about the director, but barely mentions the film itself or how it's being received. I wouldn't care except that the implication is that this film is part of his comeback.

I think there are many valid positions One can take on public health. But if you want to take the route of conservative, low regulation government, then don’t be shocked when anything goes in terms of pesticides, etc.

Such a misleading headline. The point is that if you drive long distances then (of course) you minimize the $ and environmental gains of a battery. If you do a lot of short trips, you maximize those gains.
