It took me 11! sittings over two weeks to finish this ~200 pg book so you know I had some trouble with this one. This is probably a great discussion book. I need to process more, but I am left with the impression that it's not communicating its message particularly effectively.

I picked this book up for the first time at least 3-4 years ago and stopped partway but was recently inspired to revisit it. As someone uninterested in management, it's still a useful view into the role and purpose of a good one, and talks about what teams/people need to succeed.

none of this is enough
My first book of 2026! I hated how hard the author tried to make a fantasy Japan with a limited vocabulary. The subtle wrongness distracted me the whole time. It's a shame, because she was trying to evoke a magical Spirited Away-like adventure and there were cool elements.

I picked this book up at the library because it looked short and I thought I could handle horror if short. I read it in daylight just in case (good call). It's very tense and definitely the kind of book you want to talk about later. More questions than answers.
