“As we press forward through the series of crises that have impacted our University, we are aware of a need for the faculty, administration and students to come together in a culture of mutual aid and collegial support for each other.”

We deeply appreciate our faculty allies.

This warrant application, and especially the attachments, exposes how flimsy all this is.

While scrambling to replace our labor, Columbia blasted the university listserv that it had filed an unfair labor practice charge against SWC (!), alleging we are “not bargaining in good faith.” But let’s check the record: who’s failing to show up?

During our second bargaining session with the University, we are proposing contract articles to protect international students, defend our academic freedom, and dismantle Columbia's regime of surveillance and policing.

Brownshirt ICE rolled up to my local Home Depot today and got the F-off treatment.

Shoutout to this woman because this is exactly how it’s done. No badge, face covered = F*ck all the way off.

📌 It’s on us citizens to stand up for our vulnerable brothers and sisters.

The piece starts with the case of Ranjani Srinivasan, the Indian doctoral student at Columbia who was dis-enrolled after ICE cancelled her status, even though she didn't have to be legally speaking.

Powerful statement by Columbia University graduate student workers.

ICE showed up in Ranjani Srinavasan housing facilitated by C.U. admin.

Student workers want protections for international students, academic freedom. and an end to the policing regime.

Good luck @swcolumbia.bsky.social!

Did you know? Columbia has legal no obligation to disenroll non-citizens when they are targeted by ICE.

But CU proactively disenrolled & evicted Ranjani from housing, ignored pleas for help from Mahmoud & Mohsen. The university is collaborating with the Trump admin to sell us out. 🧵

Second, 8 USC 1324 prohibits harboring some who has “come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law.”

That cannot reasonably be read to apply to people in lawful status, EVEN IF the government has rendered them removable.

An LPR maintains their status until ordered removed!
