This tells you life isn`t better, especially from the last paragraph, as it acknowledges equality was greater in the 1970`s, since the imposition of Thatcherism it has declined exponentially and its continuing to accelerate, along with all the social costs of that inequality.

No worries, it was more aimed at the original poster, he consistently treats Scotland as though its an extension of England and being English and having moved here I can see the vast difference between the two, if more English people knew how Scotland was run they would demand it for themselves.

No, just England and Wales, we in Scotland never sold our water, or let anyone near Scotland's NHS data, we also own our railway service, Scotrail. Its why Westminster scorns us so much, they don`t want you knowing what we have that you don`t
November 23, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Why don`t you use us as an example to drive home your usually excellent points Mike ? It would help define the difference in govt policies and highlight many of the things you rail against are a choice not an impossibility, try using Scottish policies as "why can`t we have" question ?

No English and Welsh citizens, Scotland`s SNP protected our data from Palantir, just to help you understand our water, railways and Healthcare is all publicly owned, etc, see the comparisons below between Scotland and England. www.ft.com/content/cf41...

No, they sold your water, not ours in Scotland, same with health data. Our SNHS was protected by the SNP from unionist data grabs, and you wonder why they are so universally detested in Westminster, they can`t have English citizens learning how badly they are treated. www.ft.com/content/cf41...

Not so different, cracked heads, broken bones and injuries, jail, blacklists, oppression is oppression time and location doesn`t change it, in the end it always end in blood being spilt if not stopped, this was my era and much worse over 25 years, now my children's war, the struggle never ends.

The old "keeping up with the jones`s" greed, the individualistic "we are better than them" infection relabelled as "Aspiration" and they would wreck it for everyone, just as long as they were ok, boy was he right.
September 25, 2025 at 5:55 PM
Just remember when you chose to believe Scargill, Benn, etc were "the enemy within" instead of listening to what they were warning you about ? and so voted to sell everything off, thinking those "aspirational politics" of Thatcher/Blair would make you richer, this is where you led us all.
September 22, 2025 at 7:43 PM
When this 🔽 is unfolding don`t tell me Labour/Lib Dem/ Conservative voters care, because they are the voters who brought about this situation by knowingly voting for Neo Liberal Economics for 45 years, just so they could prosper at everyone else's expense. Its on you, no one else, time to own it.

Two things
1 Observation of economic effects is not resentment.
2 Noting a key driver of the Brexit vote isn`t postulating
3 You have no alternative answer, twice been asked twice you have deflected away.
4 Objective fact Thatcherism has existed for 4 decades
5 1 & 4 is not based on "feel" but data
September 16, 2025 at 3:54 PM
How long before Starmer instructs the UK police to do this ?
If you think it can`t happen here then you never understood what Scargill and the miners faced at Orgreave, this is why he was demonised, he, his fellow union men like McGahey knew exactly who they were fighting, see this

Given you class Corbyn as a "dreamer" you clearly have no intention of building a world without war, instead preferring to increase and amplify bigger war making alliances, not smaller ones, and then you try to tell me your keeping my kids safe, nonsense. Like this American / NATO "protection" ?
August 23, 2025 at 8:10 PM
Murdering and slaughtering vastly more people than any other nation since the second world war, and you call Russia barbaric ? Pics below American war damage
Yes Russia is appalling but America also kills its citizens at home via shootings, beatings, its as bad as Russia on close examination
August 23, 2025 at 8:10 PM
and is still bombing and killing 24,000 babies and children, tens of thousands of women and men and children in Palestine as we speak, using the same weapons NATO uses, which you clearly support. www.pbsamerica.co.uk/series/kill-...

You can always help us leave, oh sorry forgot you can`t afford to can you, not once in 300 years has England dared stand on its own two feet, instead it captured 61 other nations who when they finally escaped not one wanted to come back. I wonder why.

I love the give us an economic forecast, whilst ignoring the fact every single UK forecast ever had had to be adjusted because its always wrong. Yet Ireland which is smaller than us doesn`t get questioned to see if its viable as a state, or Malta, Iceland, etc etc .
July 30, 2025 at 5:45 PM
Better together for you, not us, I haven`t seen a single shred of evidence where we couldn`t do better under our own control, consider this and ask why the UK won`t follow Scotgov policies without being forced to. www.gov.scot/publications...

No promises were kept, the Internal Market Act undermines Devolution completely, breaking every promise ever made
Where have the SNP broken promises to the UK? Reciprocal arguments need evidence, so where have the SNP lied or broken promises to the UK Govt ? Don`t try the once in a generation trope
July 26, 2025 at 11:12 PM
Reform ? 🤣Try again you have no clue about civic nationalism (Scots) versus blood and soil nationalism (Farage, et al) www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemoc...
July 26, 2025 at 10:44 PM
It doesn`t benefit us, it lies and deceives us at every turn, remember this ? Not to mention the Internal Market Act www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/406...

Gers is not good enough, its just accepted historically and given UK gov couldn`t agree on how to change it Scotgov just runs with it, aka both parties have agreed to use a debatable and questionable mechanism. We could easily stand on our own, if we want to what right has England to deny that ?
July 26, 2025 at 10:24 PM
You want more ? I have plenty
July 26, 2025 at 9:36 PM
See these, cutting trade to the rest of the UK is a red herring you depend on our energy, food, security (Faslane), etc, any disruption to that would be catastrophic for England, but not for us, we have the EU as an additional outlet, try again
July 26, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Scotland gets more money from Westminster than they give in taxes - Evidence for this please, and no GERS won`t do its an "estimate" not hard data.
Leaving an economic union that doesn`t serve us is to our advantage. Such as these disadvantages forced on us. I have more examples
