Former Inspector General Joe Ferguson got fined $5,000 for allegedly leaking a confidential Hilco report. The city’s philosopher saint gets dinged by the board of ethics

If I’m not mistaken, there’s a really well-done Dumb and Dumber reference hidden in this passage

Lawyer for protesters to ICE bigwig Russell Hott: “Do you agree that it's unconstitutional to arrest people for being opposed to Midway Blitz?”

Hott: “No.”

My guilty pleasure is lawyers fighting. There was some really over the top bickering after a Department of Justice lawyer apparently called Locke Bowman a petulant old man and there was hullabaloo over his refusal to shake hands with Gregory Bovino.

Here’s Bovino defending the use of tear gas in the Old Irving Park neighborhood before a Halloween party.
November 25, 2025 at 2:13 PM
He was really chatty one time: Bovino was asked about his work history and the attorney got annoyed when he started talking about “some amateur arborist activities, the felling of trees.”
November 25, 2025 at 2:10 PM
“There were figures in the video,” he said, grinding down a simple question

Gregory Bovino’s deposition is out. Check here and @chicagotribune.com for highlights. Throughout, Bovino was evasive and combative. In this, while being asked about a photo showing him throwing tear gas, Bovino said: “You said canister. I threw two. That’s plural.”

Border Patrol on Chicago women: “Of course the spots where all the females going crazy, that’s where the crowds are the fucking most riled up. Like these dudes are just talking shit, but if the females came over here, they’d get ’em all worked up.” Hat tip @ravengeary.bsky.social

truly unhinged and disturbing propaganda from the United States government

In Brighton Park, you had this incident with a protester, and a federal agent falsely claiming he was assaulted.

Here’s some insight into the obvious lack of training and discipline for federal agents at Broadview and as part of Midway Blitz
November 20, 2025 at 9:38 PM
The Department of Homeland Security falsely claimed people were firing fireworks at them. Instead, it was their own flashbacks on video, the judge said.
November 20, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Bovino and others made bizarre claims about Latin kings wearing maroon sweaters and that isn’t really true and also the people wearing maroon are normal folks and Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez
November 20, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Federal officials claimed protesters had shields with nails in them, but they actually just had cardboard. They claimed a protester threw a bike at them, but they actually threw the bike. And they claimed that a protester ripped a man’s beard off but … no proof

This is a thread detailing a series of incidents where federal Judge Ellis rules that Gregory Bovino and his agents lied or misrepresented what was happening on the streets of Chicago. In this one, she says body cam footage suggests they brake checked to cause accidents
November 20, 2025 at 9:27 PM
The federal government shot Marimar Martinez in Brighton Park, charged her with federal crimes, and just weeks later is dismissing the case. This follows several dropped prosecutions against protesters. To say the immigration raids have been all around mess is an understatement

The Pat Hynes campaign is out here misspelling the office he seeks

US citizen Maria Greeley, a Latina who was adopted, was walking home from work downtown when masked agents zip tied her. They said she “doesn’t look like a Greeley.” This is how the government treats people under current deportation policies.

Always love seeing The City is Up for Grabs at bookstores and the airport, the paperback makes a great holiday gift

This post would be wild coming from a blue checkmark bot. Crazy from the feds. There’s essentially no truth here. Violent rioters aren’t demanding the release of some of the worst humans on the planet. Govt records show most of these folks detained are low public safety risks.

Here’s a great example of Homeland Security and Tricia McLaughlin propaganda not being true. They’re going around claiming credit for Chicago experiencing the fewest summer murders since 1965. That was true and reported locally before Midway Blitz even began.
