The one thing that keeps me from wanting to play MS is the time it takes to do resource gathering. Everything else (I experienced in the game) is okay to great!

The same is true of Windows, or MacOS. I had a rough transition from Linux to Windows/Mac when I changed companies. Linux is a little more dynamic, so I experience this to a certain extent with modern Linux as well (eyes systemd).

Official Uno rules say no draw card stacking. If you are playing house rules and stack then you decide how the stacking works. Preferably before the game starts.

Just in case, logs (or journals under systemd) are places where the various programs that make up "the operating system" record what they have done and what problems they may have encountered. (like a ship's log or a captain's journal) I think systemd defaults to rewriting these every boot.
