You're probably right. It always seemed to me like Pirates should've been in the park, but I grew up thinking if you had a Disneyland/Magic Kingdom park that there had to be a Pirates ride in it, so this helped at least see that they did plan that style of ride, just not with actual Pirates!

It's possible that I hadn't given a whole lot of thought to the WDW Pirates queue because it just makes sense and seems like it belongs there, so of course you'd walk through those sorts of scenes on the way to your Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride #WEDReads

There aren't many, but there are a couple attractions in WDW where I'm actually disappointed when there's no wait, because I enjoy the queue. Flight and Passage and Star Tours are a couple of those. Good to know this started with Pirates + I'll have to give that one more thought next time I'm there

One thing that wasn't mentioned and maybe it's just a Disney urban legend, but isn't there supposed to be a ghost, George, I think, that CMs talk about saying goodnight to or something like that, in the WDW Pirates? #WEDReads

I'm a slow reader. Just barely finished this book before the chat started, so I need a break!

I also didn't realize Pirates in WDW was the first attraction to exit through a gift shop. I'll definitely be adding that fact to the list of things I think it is important that people who travel with me to theme parts must know! #WEDReads

I have it, but haven't read it cover to cover, just looked through bits and pieces of it

I've never given a whole lot of thought to the Pirates queue in WDW, so one of the things this book has done is to help me realize that there is a lot more going on there than I realized and it does bring you into the story very effectively. #WEDReads

True, but I didn't realize how much Western River Expedition would've been as similar to Pirates, but in a different setting, so had they actually built that, then I would've understood the idea that there was already a Pirates-like attraction in the park

I appreciated the explanation of why some of the changes were made to the WDW version + didn't realize some Imagineers actually wanted to cut out some of the scenes that were left out of the Florida version

I've heard talk about the story behind the Pirates attraction and the underlying message behind to scenes we see + how that's changed as WDI has tinkered with the attraction, but appreciated the thorough account and thoughts of some reasons for those changes #WEDReads

Where can I pre-order that?

I never heard about Fred Joerger being flown in daily from Glendale while constructing show sets for Pirates + had no idea there were actual skeletons in the ride at one point #WEDReads

If you're talking about charging for Tweetdeck (or whatever it'll be called now), then that's one thing I think it is fair to charge for. As long as they maintain something that actually works.
