Snow Control Update, Feb. 2, 2026
The City of Burlington declared a Significant Weather Event (Jan. 26). Snow removal is underway across the city, including hauling snow to disposal sites. Some curbs, sidewalks, and bike lanes may be temporarily blocked. Crews are working as quickly as possible.

Halton Region Public Health has issued a cold warning beginning Jan 27. During extreme cold warnings, residents can stay warm at designated Burlington Public Library branches during open hours. For hours, visit www.bpl.on.ca

Cold warnings are issued when temperatures reach –15°C.

Significant Weather Declaration – Jan. 26
The City of Burlington has declared a Significant Weather Event effective 12 a.m., Jan. 26, due to weekend snowfall. This remains in effect until further notice and allows crews flexibility to prioritize winter response. ❄️🚜burlington.ca/snow

All City recreation facilities will remain closed until 3 p.m. today.
The PA Day Program at Brant Hills Community Centre is cancelled.

Residential road plowing is complete
Sanding is underway on all residential roads
Sidewalk plowing will be completed this morning
Snow removal and haulage continue in select areas through the weekend

Beginning December 2025, Halton Region will be replacing the noise wall along Guelph Line, adjacent to Brunswick Court, north of Highway 407.
The improvements will include:
Reduced noise levels for nearby residents; and
Enhanced community livability.
