it's taken a long time to be open about what I went through because part of me just wanted an apology and for them to get better, I didn't want to destroy them - but it's clear that won't ever happen here so if just telling the truth about what they did destroys them that's ultimately not my fault.

yea it's a mess. in both their cases it stemmed from CSA and obvs they need deeeeep amounts of therapy, so i can't fully blame them for it but they're just, bad news even though they don't mean to be. hurt people hurt people but knowing what they went through it's hard for me not to feel bad for 'em

sorry for the overshare lol but like, tldr 110% agree, grooming isn't just something kids should be wary of. Adults get groomed too and you when you realise you're consciously ignoring red flags just to keep the peace and not be a buzzkill, you need to get out and get out fast.
