Also, not sure how to say this politely, but the discourse here is very American; if you'd rather not hear about every US development throughout each day it's just not a very interesting platform. I'm having more fun on more dedicated hobbyist sites or forums. Maybe could even revisit Mastodon.

The Discover feed here is a huge miss. That's part of the issue.

But altogether, I just spend less time on social media now as the information landscape is... demoralising.

I definitely feel like I'm posting into the void here, barring a few exceptions. Despite having a similar no. of followers here as I had on Twitter. Twitter launched several new scientific collaborations for me; none here so far.

Usually when this happens to me, either I'm added to a list, or some old list I'm on gets re-advertised.
