Beyond morphology, sometimes unstressed syllables just don’t want onsets.They don’t take long to say and just don’t need the baggage of additional consonants, especially not clusters

There are 24 consonants and 13 vowels, each corresponding to a phoneme of general American English. The first two tables are Latin aliases for the 37 letters, and the second two tables are the rook letters themselves
