We are stuck with a bunch of flawed states, and must make the best of the situation. A UN and International Criminal Court with real power would help. Unfortunately, Russia, China and the US would not follow the decisions so why would other nations. Might makes right?

It reminded me of the US and British bombing of Dresden during WW2. Was the Israeli response excessive? Oct 7 was a bigger deal to Israel and Jewish supporters of Israel than 9/11 was to the US. Everyone in Israel, and many of us outside Israel, know someone who was killed or kidnapped on Oct 7.

Tell that to my relative spent hours lying down on the concrete with her Bedouin students in the summer of 2024 while Hamas fired rockets at them. Bedouin schools don’t have bomb shelters. Israel doesn’t waste Iron Dome on missiles that are going to land in the desert.

I cannot believe that if Persian Gulf States wanted peace between Israel and Palestine, a deal couldn’t be done. Of course, then attention might turn to the repression and inequality in their nations. Israel makes a useful whipping boy.

A Zionist is someone who supports the right of Jews to live in Israel. Zionists cannot be colonists because Jews have lived in Israel continuously for over 2,500 years. Btw, Israel happens to be the only democracy in the Middle East.

Is resolving the Israeli/Palestinian a priority for the UK? Their inaction leads me to believe it is not.

Palestinian would need a viable state. Jerusalem/Al Quds would be capitol of Palestine and Israel. Lots of moving pieces, but it could be done. Most Palestinians and Israelis are good people who want the best lives for their families.

I see something more like the Good Friday Agreement between the UK and Ireland as a model for a solution.

It wasn’t the IDF who rained missiles for months on Israel. Wasn’t the IDF who used civilian infrastructure for terror operations. Have you even been to Israel? Recently? I was there last summer, and it wasn’t my first trip there either

Citation please. Where was the justice for the innocents murdered, raped and mutilated by Hamas on Oct. 7 and afterwards? Israel, like the US, has a justice system. That doesn’t prevent injustice, but provides remedies.
