Is the 2016 thing here? Anyway, that was the year that my first game hit stores, and the first time I was invited to participate at a convention. Still at it a decade later!

Hits & Outs reached a nice milestone today! It reached the top 50% of rated games on BoardGameGeek (14571 of 29885). 🥳
I'm pleased to see that it's also climbed well in several of its key Categories, Mechanisms, and Families:
45% Sports
47% Bluffing
49% Two-Player Only
50% Baseball
51% Deduction

Very happy to see that Hits & Outs made a channel's Top 10 list! In this case, it's the Top 10 new releases in Japan in 2025. Neat to see the mix of brand new Japanese games and older international titles that were just released there.

If you need an excuse to include Hits & Outs in your Kickstarter pledge, just say that @stuteacher.bsky.social recommended it! I think it may be his top game from the Spring Tokyo Game Market. 🥰
So while it is ESPECIALLY hard to do "Game of the Year" for board games because they're not only so numerous, but also so hard to table, it's kinda ridiculous unless you're super in the "I can review full time" space to do that, so I look at the best games of each month and do a countdown of those

Whoever told IKF to stay close to third to avoid getting doubled-up on a line drive by Varsho to 3B/SS cost the Jays the World Series. Fun fact: Varsho didn't line out to the left side of the infield all season, but had PLENTY of ground balls to the right side. What'd he do? 🤬 #WorldSeries #BlueJays

It's obviously a very small sample size, but it's encouraging to see that Hits & Outs『ヒット＆アウト』is doing well on Bodoge Hoobby, a.k.a. Japanese BoardGameGeek. It finished second in last month's "fun games for 2 players" poll, only behind Battle Line -- Knizia's highest-rated 2 player game on BGG!
