I suppose the DHS social media folks would rather make up numbers than look up facts on their own website. But the last time DHS reported deportation stats, they were deporting about 100,000 people per year for crimes. Not millions. A hundred thousand. ohss.dhs.gov/topics/immig...
Table 42. Noncitizen Removals by Criminal Status and Region and Country of Nationality: Fiscal Years 2013 to 2022
2022 Yearbook of Immigration Statistics data table about noncitizens removed in fiscal year 2022. Broken out criminal status and region/country of nationality.

Coming soon to the CDC website: Miasma was rejected too quickly as a cause of disease. We will bring our gold-standard science to reconsider miasma and its potentially deadly consequences.

Maybe he can use one of those cards to finally get a pierogi on Martha's Vineyard.

What is the recidivism rate among the J6 pardon recipients? That might make a good ad for the Dems in the midterms - the party that *really* cares about crime.

Yeah. The 2019 Hillman Prize for Newspaper Journalism went to Julie K. Brown and Emily Michot of the Miami Herald.

The world's most famous White Sox fan might have something to say about this.

During the 2008 campaign, if I recall correctly, both Obama and McCain appeared at Saddleback.

The Roman general Crassus made his fortune this way -- recruited a fire fighting company, brought it to the scene of a fire, offered to buy the property from the owner and then, and only then, put out the fire. If the owner refused, he let the house burn. Who needs fire insurance?

We need to stop blaming Chuck Schumer. He is a symptom, not the cause. Senate Dems give up the fight because they don't want to fight, not because of Schumer's alleged or real failings. Even a reincarnated LBJ couldn't make these people fight.

That worked so well for the GOP governor candidate in Virginia.

Yes, but at least the planes have wings. I think.

I thought Bill Pulte, the guy who pitched mortgage fraud charges against Adam Schiff and other Dems, was a vengeful political operator. But after learning about his proposal for a 50-year mortgage, I realized that I was wrong. He's an idiot.

It took decades for the DOJ to earn the "presumption of regularity" from the federal courts, the belief that when government officials say something in court it is presumed to be true. Trump 2.0 has trashed it in 10 months.

Two words: Qualified immunity.

And Sam Rayburn. Clay, Rayburn, Pelosi and maybe Joe Cannon. A very small group of Speakers who made their mark in history.

Yes. Watch a video of AOC in a committee hearing. Sharp, well-informed questions every time. That takes staff work.

Well, Trump says he's reduced drug prices by 1500 percent. I guess he's going to reduce the average American's weight by 300 percent.

Can someone explain to me why Nancy Pelosi, who always played to win, groomed chickenshit Hakeem Jeffries as her successor? Please use small words so I can understand.

After Tuesday's SCOTUS hearing, tariffs might be going away as an issue. Ironic if the normally Trump friendly justices save him from one of his worst decisions.
November 6, 2025 at 3:22 AM
Correct. In early returns, 65% yes. Trump thought if he gerrymandered TX, CA couldn't respond in kind. For some reason he thinks he is not massively unpopular here. He's wrong.

How could he forget to mention “Hindu wives who should find Christian salvation”?

As someone else noted, the correct response by Noem et al would have been to ignore Pritzker. But since Noem, like most of the Trump 2.0 crowd, is incompetent, she just couldn't help herself. It's a little thing, but repeated reminders of their cruelty will eventually reach many folks in the middle.

Post Watergate, DOJ saw itself as independent from the White House. Some AG's and, to their credit, some presidents, tried to make that work. But that's not possible under our Constitution. The AG is nominated by the president and can be dismissed at any time by him. DOJ independence is a myth.
