👷🏽‍♂️ Always building something new.
🔥 From ideas to small, useful projects.
📝 Learning by creating.

https://zapshipr.com
Nobody talks about posting with 13 followers.

It feels quiet.

But this stage matters because:
– there’s low pressure
– you get real feedback
– you can build consistency

Attention will come later.
I’m using this time to prepare for it.

Hustle culture says:
no alcohol, no rest, no balance.

That works for some people.

Not for me.

For me, a beer at the end of the week
is a reward - earned, not mindless.

Sustainable > extreme.

Most solopreneurs don’t run out of ideas.

They stop repeating what actually works.

Build a system that works for you from day one.

Speed beats polish.

Polish can wait.
Feedback can’t.

“Every idea is taken. Just copy or adjust.”

I don’t think ideas are the problem.
Execution, timing, taste, and consistency are.

Copying isn’t cheating - it’s learning.
Adjusting is where things become yours.

Do you believe ideas matter, or only execution?

What do I think about AI?
I hate it and love it.

I used to think CS skills were rare. Now anyone with ChatGPT or Claude can build without uni.

Most AI code is bad — but with experience, it works.

I built a real product in 3 months while working 9–5.

I realized something: building features isn’t enough.

You need a clear audience.

That’s why I’m reworking my scheduler into a content assistant.

P.S. Ping me up, if want an early access

How to start creating?
You need to love building things.

Money isn’t enough. A strong technical background isn’t either.
I chased “successful success” stories and made mistakes.

Now I build for progress — and enjoy the process, not the money.

How to keep building when you’re tired?
I’m motivated by freedom — building things I like, the way I like.
But burnout hits, especially when you have a 9–5.
You can’t be good everywhere.
Priorities matter.

How do you keep going without burning out?

I’m rethinking how I validate ideas.
How did you do it - and what would you do differently now?

I built my first product almost fully in isolation—thousands of lines of code, zero validation.

The shift came when I realized I should’ve shared early instead of hiding the build.

Now I promote from day one.

The lesson: visibility is validation. Don’t wait to be “ready.”

As a dev, sharing used to feel unnatural.

But once I posted regularly, I noticed decisions got faster.

Content became a thinking tool, not a marketing task.

Which part of BuildInPublic helps you think better: sharing wins, roadmaps, or daily progress?

Some days building feels pointless. No metrics, no signals… just me pushing pixels in silence.

But then I picture that one version of myself who didn’t quit—and actually made it.

That image keeps me moving.

When you hit that “why am I doing this?” moment, what pulls you back in?

Trying to learn every new tech killed my momentum.

I finally locked into a stack that works: Next.js, Express, PostgreSQL, Shadcn, Tailwind.

Pick one stack that fits your workflow and ship 10 projects with it before switching. That’s where clarity comes from.

I kept seeing people build real things after their 9–5, and at some point it stopped being “inspiring” and started feeling like a reminder: I could do that too. So I took the one idea I fully understood — a simple scheduling tool — and started building it from scratch

If you ever feel dumb, remember: I skipped 3rd-party tools and built a scheduler… for my scheduler.
Building ZapShipr with raw social media APIs meant audits, rate limits, and constant pain.
Lesson: don’t reinvent the wheel like I did. Use existing tools.

Got laid off from my 9-to-5 two days ago — first time ever.

Now I've got time for my projects, but zero independence.

And I'm in Malaysia without a flight home.

Still... maybe it’s the reset I needed.

If you’re torn between security and dreams — you’re not alone 🌍

No users yet — so I started interviewing creators.

Early feedback > early features.
ZapShipr is still small, but the vision is big.

Who wants a free STARTER plan to try most features and help me shape the next steps? ⚡️

If marketing feels like chaos, same here.
Creators don’t quit from lack of ideas but from lack of systems — that’s why I built https://zapshipr.com.
I’m a dev first, but today building isn’t enough. You need a system that helps you share and sell your vision. ⚡️

What would you recommend to a young and ambitious indie developer just starting their journey?

Please don’t ignore this post — share your experience. It would be valuable not only for me, but for others as well.

Stay positive. Respect others. Keep building.

One integration took 1 day.
Another took 3 weeks.
Guess which platform it was 😅

Building ZapShipr reminds me how unpredictable APIs can be. Some are smooth, some… not so much. But every win stacks.

ZapShipr isn’t “just another scheduler.” It’s early, but the vision is bigger: a full workspace for creators and teams. Next up: smoother post creation, platform-specific tools, team features.
For now—find first users and keep building. ⚡️

I love Next.js—just not for the backend. ZapShipr uses a classic REST API with separate frontend and backend. Yes, it’s more work: two repos, two deployments, extra headaches. But separating concerns matters, even for tiny indie projects. It makes scaling and adding features easier.

In love with my own tool soo much! That’s how my content calendar looks right now 😄 I finally have a free weekend and I’m spending it finding ways to promote ZapShipr. New update: you can now add hashtags & embed links in Bluesky posts. Let’s keep pushing 🚀

Apparently this is life after deciding to build your own tiny product 😅
Just me and my very personal GitHub.
