Yes, I also was mad that part of the campaign for our new(is) Central Library was "we don't say sssh any more." I mean, reading is a quiet activity, right?

And banning screens brings us slap up against accommodations. Yes, you can allow exceptions but then you are forcing disclosure, which we have long been instructed is bad practice (which seems right to me).

Also the refrain of comments like "now we don't just say 'go write your essay' and slap a grade on it with no attention to process" is kind of insulting in the assumptions it makes about how people taught pre-AI. Discussion-based and processed based pedagogy is not new?!

I have read some of the books and enjoyed them! I thought the show was fine but I agree: a series would have let them develop the characters, which is the best part of the books.
