She hasn’t served long enough … yet. Nothing Is preventing her from resigning today. That she’s waiting to resign until she qualifies for the pension says a lot about her, and renders her “poor me, I can’t serve under these conditions” spiel meaningless.

Thanks. I knew it was true of the pension, but wasn’t sure if that also applied to FEHB as well.

Device hoarding is keeping a perfectly functional device? Give me a break. Reminds me of how credit card companies refer to people who pay their bills in full and on time as deadbeats.

That’s how they refer to people who are responsible with money? They don’t really respect consumers, do they?

Oh, that’s an interesting question. I’m no expert, but I believe if someone retired from govt service at the minimum retirement age (and met the requirements for FEHB), they would be eligible regardless of whether or not they went into another job. But OPM is the best source for that sort of info.

She has to be enrolled in FEHB for the five years immediately prior to retiring. As she’s in her early 50s , she won’t meet that requirement If she doesn’t return to government service.

For your amusement, here’s my little good-bye thread to some of my “special” X followers (I’m really curious about where those sort of accounts originate). bsky.app/profile/rogu...
Spending more time here, but I’ll miss all the young women with long hair and their artful profile pictures in which they contemplatively faced away from the camera … like Soghoasle, Crelough, Sealawtir, McQuore, and Thooniez.

This is an individual, not a business perspective. But even a business should use a more meaningful metric like how much traffic does our business site get from social media and not over-emphasize the significance of follower counts.

I had a modest number of followers on X, but when I took a good look, the majority were clearly bots. I think follower numbers anywhere are pretty meaningless. The best you can hope for on social media is to find a non-toxic niche (X fails spectacularly on that), and forget follower numbers.

All because this disgusting excuse for a human being was deemed a suitable vehicle for a right-wing power grab.

Yes, it sounds “out there”, but not so long ago a lot of the actions undertaken recently were considered inconceivable. Troops on American soil, ICE abductions, the Supreme Court essentially ruling that trump is above the law, the blatant corruption…

Trump praised Duterte for an “unbelievable job on the drug problem”. There were thousands of extra-judicial killings while Duterte was in office. My concern is that Trump’s actions now are priming the pump for a later acceptance of similar extra-judicial killings on U.S. soil.

I‘ve always used wooden clothespins (lightweight), but binder clips do have that paper advantage.

Denying them further exposure by blocking them is its own kind of satisfaction. And better for your mental health.

Back in the day you’d know to flip up the handle because you’d seen everyone else doing it. If you had never seen one before, there’s nothing that indicates that the handle flips up. The pump on/pump off directions are inadequate. Sometimes figuring it out means asking for assistance. She did fine.

“Barely legal” would be just turned 18. I question the judgment of whoever this person was that characterized 15 as barely legal. Two to three years shy of the age of consent in NY and FL is nowhere near “barely legal”.

That’s exactly what he suggested.

I was wondering where that weird equivalence of fraud as people not filing claims came from, and found it originated with a think tank called Paragon Health Institute. Here’s an article debunking Paragon. www.aha.org/news/blog/20...

It is imperative that policymakers understand that Paragon developed their allegations of large-scale “fraud” in health care using inaccurate data, dubious assumptions, and an apparent lack of underst...
