Basically I got very excited with Nelly featuring heavily in the trailer. Most people forget or don’t acknowledge that the whole story is her POV as well.

Cause part of what made their genuine love and relationship so damn toxic was class and society and their refusal to be self-reflective and that could be a more timely version of the story.

It also will be hilarious they’re playing up the love story and releasing it on Valentine’s Day to pull the rug people unfamiliar with the novel.

It looks like a highly artistic take that may be the more authentic version of the novels themes than any other adaptation.

Like with Linton being played by a Pakistani man and Nelly an Asian woman, they obviously were conscious about casting in some ways.

Yes, Heathcliff should be a man of color but I wonder if they portray him as the abusive asshole I remember from the novel, they may have deemed it more problematic that way?
