However, I also don't think it's an option to simply say that IPT has nothing to do with what's happening ... somehow, the riders/ IPT/ UCI need to find a way to clearly distance themselves from what Israel is doing. In fact, this should have happened a long time ago. (5/n)

About exclusion from the race: I think it's unfair to punish individual riders for what Israel is doing – the riders themselves have different nationalities and might be horrified by what's happening in Gaza (at least, I hope so!) (4/n)

However, it's NEVER ok to endanger others – whether riders or anyone else. That principle applies everywhere, both to Israel and to the protesters. (Yes, what Israel is doing is on a completely different scale, but the principle is still the same.) (3/n)

Second, I fully support the need for protesters to find creative and disruptive ways to get their message through – otherwise, it's far too easy for cameras to simply "cut away" from things that would make viewers "uncomfortable" (2/n)

well, I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the "completely unbiased observer" 😅 though I do think a lot of people underestimate Roglič because they focus too much on TdF.

as a completely unbiased observer, I'm going with b) 😅 I know some people basically think cycling = TdF and nothing else matters ... to me, cycling is so much more than that 🥰
