The extraordinary Fintan O’Toole is the latest in a long line of Irish writers - from Swift through Wilde and Shaw - who dissect the mainland of Great Britain better than most of the natives.

It will become a mark of shame to be allowed into the USA.

US could ask foreign tourists for five-year social media history before entry

In his own words in the middle of night… they’re testing him several times a day and calling constantly for outside medical opinions. It’s beginning to seep into that reptilian mind that something must be seriously wrong, and he’s melting down.

The remaining decent UK journalists should stop reporting actions and statements from the Trump/Farage/Musk axis as if they deserve intelligent analysis. They are invariably motivated by greed, venality, revenge and/or sadism. Should be reported as such.

30% of USA adults are functionally illiterate. Can’t or won’t read to paragraph length, their worldview mediated by FoxTV and Elon Musk. That’s the Trump vote.
Approaching that in UK, which is the Reform vote.
Education, education, education, as the man said.

Does anybody really believe for a moment that Farage and his gang are not dyed-in-the-wool racists? Of course they are. Why is it even a matter of media debate?

Infantino lifting a mandatory two-match ban so Ronaldo can play in the opening games of the World Cup is a pitiful wink at Trump - “Look Donald, I’m a corrupt president too!” If there was a shred of decency in FIFA, committee members would be walking.

That’s a Labour budget. We’re in business.

Kidding ourselves if we think that Farage voters didn’t know he is a racist. It’s why they vote for him.

What many of us realised. Howe coached Isak into a sharp cutting edge, and built a team around serving him. The goals - and Isak’s inflated market value and opinion of himself - duly followed. Slot failed to spot most of that, possibly due to a similarly bloated sense of himself.

As gangs of racists, petty criminals, domestic abusers and paedophiles wrapped in flags chant and sing about “our country and our women and kids,” we are in the 250th anniversary year of Samuel Johnson’s ageless perception that “Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.”

Since the threatened lawsuit, BBC have found a backbone in reporting Trump’s insanities.
How about taking the next step, Gibbsy, and opening hunting season on Farage and our other wannabe Trumps?

Great thing about Thomas Tuchel’s success is that all the xenophobes were just waiting for him to fall flat on his face.
They still are, but we’re spared the morons until next summer.

Clearer than ever that Farage has encouraged Trump to bankrupt the BBC. May he reap the whirlwind.

I’m going to sue the BBC for ten gazillion dollars unless they give me twice that tomorrow.
November 11, 2025 at 7:59 AM
Farage telephones Trump for a chat about the BBC. Trump promptly announces that he’s suing the BBC for a billion.
C’mon. It would be funny if the BBC only belonged to Johnson’s Tory/Reform placemen. But it’s as much a national asset as the NHS.
