Cautionary tale, for sure. It shows what a slow slide it was, in Germany, and how MANY people domestic and abroad kept thinking it would blow over. But yes, done with characteristically brilliant Larson research.

Fun story I can add… In film school, one of my teachers used to be married to Peckinpah’s daughter. They moved into his house, and in the bedroom, in the ceiling over the bed, were bullet holes. The story was that there had once been a fly buzzing around the room so Sam shot at it. 👀

Some of those execs you can definitely aim to avoid, but it sure sucks when they’re in a funnel you know you’ll have to hit again next time.
