I thought it was fascinating that this simple shirt could be so well-understood for what it was that she would both clock us as people who would know its significance, and that she would be so embarrassed by it that she'd need to essentially apologize for how it comes across.

But a few days later, the wife sees my wife and comes over to tell her that the shirt was a gift from her MAGA brother, and that her husband wears it on weekends to do house jobs, painting, sweating, that sort of thing.

This was totally unprompted. She wanted her to know "we're not like that."

I told my wife about it afterwards. She didn't see _the video_ so didn't know what it was, but I explained it. We didn't get that kind of impression from his wife, so we speculated a bit about how that situation works.

Again, no mention was made to the husband or wife about the shirt...

And the couple who lives there - who we know decently well but aren't super close to - ran over to help. The four of us got it lifted.

But when the husband ran in, he was wearing a white Charlie Kirk 'Freedom' shirt. I didn't say anything because I needed the help, but I did notice.

I guess that's possible... but I have also found often with comedies the marketing is basically "the funniest stuff" and so if you don't laugh - or worse, cringe yourself out - that the full experience will be the same. I'll reserve judgement but the clips I've seen so far are *bad* bad.

We're at the "it says flicker-free!" and "they didn't look like that in the store!" phase of rage at this point. And also I have been explaining color temperatures to truly solidify how obnoxiously particular I am about LED lights.

Honestly, raising a newborn isn't even difficult. It's physically and emotionally draining, it's exhausting at times, but it's not some kind of complex puzzle you have to solve.

They need to eat, shit, and sleep. Bathe them every so often, call the doctor when something seems off. Don't shake them.

You're literally saying this *TO* a man who twice did what you say you are incapable of doing.
