I don't think it's limited to music academia. I suspect it runs across a wide range of post-secondary education faculties. Except maybe engineering, because you know.... engineers. 😏

It's relying on the same innumeracy that had Canadian banks switch from reporting their quarterly profits in Billions to Thousand Millions. Having $4 Billion in profit per quarter sounds way greedier than having $4000 million in profit per quarter. Like me saying I'm sixty-ten years old. 🙄😏

People just have no sense of what percentages and probability mean. That same problem happened with covid in 2020, 8% mortality rate didn't seem that scary, that meant 92%of people didn't die. 😒The same people who buy lottery tickets would think that a 0.0017% chance was negligible risk.🙄😬🤦♂️

Even in 2001 when the indoor smoking ban in restaurants and pubs came into effect in BC people predicted the end of the hospitality business entirely, and it turned out that smoking kept more people away than attracted them.

Feeling better is the best reason to be working out. The trails through Pacific Spirit park are a great place to run or ride a bike (or even stroll along), almost for sure no large animal predators. Maybe a few coyotes.

Just imagine how many crypto bros are whispering in his ear. In 2018 I was sitting at a coffee shop in between meetings and I had this view, while I was there a guy came in and wheeled this Bitcoin ATM machine out because it had already risen in value to be impractical as regular currency.

I've seen speculation about this on a few financial YT videos over the past month. You know that any decision implemented will optimize profit taking for the Trump family, and they don't give a flying duck about people's savings.

It isn't widely publicized, but all the behind the scenes of current movie and TV production has the crew masked, as they can't afford to risk having the star talent get sick at the cost of production delay, and the well paid production staff don't want to get sidelined with illness either.
