Mega Man 11 is the only Classic Mega Man game, and the only Mega Man game that isn't a collection, to be released in the United States first, as it was released two days earlier in the US than in Japan. Only the Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man Zero Collection have also done this.

There exists graphics for an unused copy protection system in Mega Man for DOS. You would be shown a picture of an enemy from the game, and you would need to consult the game's manual, find the enemy's picture, and type in the name, similar to how some other DOS games' anti-piracy worked.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne's Japanese title, Tron ni Kobun, is likely based on the proverb "neko ni koban" (giving a gold coin to a cat), which means "casting pearls before swine". The game makes no reference to this, so it was likely chosen because "koban" and "kobun" sound similar.

A US trailer for Mega Man Battle Network 6 says that the games are meant to tie into "MegaMan NT Warrior Beast". However, this is not true, as Rockman.EXE Beast never received an English dub. It is unknown whether there were plans to dub Beast or whether this is just an error.

The Rockman 6 manga brings a unique change to one of the Robot Masters; Centaur Man is revealed to actually be a woman disguised as a man. She is also revealed to be the girlfriend of Knight Man in this continuity, attacking Mega Man in rage due to him defeating Knight Man beforehand.

Chokkan! Rockman was released for the Keitai Capcom phone service in January 2008. It's a collection of 12 minigames themed around different Mega Man characters, such as moving a cursor around Dr. Wily to make him dizzy, a rhythm game against Elec Man, or a skiing game with Fire Man.

AquaMan.EXE's name was changed to SpoutMan.EXE in the English localization of Mega Man Battle Network 6, as well as in MegaMan NT Warrior. The reason for this was likely to avoid being sued by DC Comics, due to both of them having a character named Aquaman.

For some reason, in the Mega Man DOS games, Mega Man does not change color when he equips a Special Weapon. Also, in the first game, the Mega Buster is referred to as the "Plasma Cannon", a name which would be reused in the Mega Man Ruby-Spears cartoon.

Concept art for Mega Man X: Command Mission reveals that at one point, both Mega Man himself and Cut Man were planned to appear. This is further supported by the fact that having a save file for the PS2 version of Command Mission unlocks Cut Man as a mini-boss in Mega Man X8.

Between 2009-10, development began on a potential Mega Man Star Force 4, which would have featured a new character named Kazuma, a descendant of Lan Hikari from the Mega Man Battle Network games. The game was cancelled due to Star Force 3's poor sales, and was discovered on June 14, 2019.
