7/7 This is existential for Ukraine and for Europe as a whole.

Ukraine needs more infantry to keep its strategy alive and end the war one day.

Europe must step up so Ukraine can step up.

Waiting means losing and paying a much higher price later

6/7 Everything in war is linked. More aid means better conditions for troops, including infantry.

Europe must seize Russia’s frozen assets and give them to Ukraine. Help Ukraine scale up drones and missiles. Give more European weapons and training.

Every step helps infantry

5/7 Ukraine must fix mobilization and recruitment while decreasing AWOLs and deserters.

It must make the army more fair and professional, train troops properly and longer, pay infantry more, and have shorter rotations.

Motivation starts with trust and competence

4/7 Infantry is brutal work.

Short training, too long rotations, and command issues make it worse.

Ukraine’s corps reform should help, but it is slow. Until then the gap remains huge and Russia knows it

3/7 Drones and artillery help, but infantry still matters. You need soldiers to hold ground.

Ukraine does not have enough. AWOLs, desertions, too few volunteers, and limited mobilization make this a dangerous combination

2/7 Ukraine has done far better than expected during this war. It has stopped Russia from reaching its strategic goals for almost 4 years.

But its two-part strategy of trading land for time while hitting Russia’s economy with deep strikes needs more boots on the ground

2/ The military police have been the subject of complaints for years due to their rampant corruption, violent treatment of soldiers and generally obstructive attitudes.

1/ Russian soldiers and volunteers bringing 'humanitarian aid' are being systematically robbed at military checkpoints, according to Russian warbloggers. The culprits are the infamously corrupt military police (VP), who confiscate equipment for their own use or to resell. ⬇️
