What we found: Hydrogen doesn't politely seep through rock - it bursts through in sudden jumps! It also flows unevenly, sometimes stopping and starting again in certain places.

Why care? Storing hydrogen in underground rock formations could be a brilliant way to bank renewable energy. Store excess electricity from sunny or windy days as hydrogen, then convert it back when needed.

Back in the stunning Scottish #Highlands and basking in sunshine I certainly wasn't expecting! ☀️ After living in 🏴 for a while, I've seen my fair share of Highland weather, and this is a treat. The panoramas are even more breathtaking under these blue skies. A proper "come back" indeed. #Scotland
