it also refers to the previous govt's...so they may be referring to the last 3 weeks of 2019 in which the previous govt is in office....it never makes a direct comparison between 19 and 20/21...but if it did, by eo 2021, it looks almost identical to 2019 (but on a downward trajectory)

i'm not sure on nominal figures because the MO chart cites as a % of avg natl income...
the part of the WP you cited doesnt mention the period 16-19, but we can clearly see post 21 the trend of rising incomes reversing....

which claim are we referring to? because the claim below about low skilled immigrant no.s soaring appears true since 2021 based on the previous chart i shared from MO paper (assuming some correlation between income and skills) doesnt it?

here...the chart shows 50th %ile new non eu migrants' income as % avg income falling since 2021.
now its fair to say that could be noise and more data is needed, and its not a massive drop to build a policy on....but its not a lie right?

i'm not sure i follow, if a median (50th percentile) new entrant in their first full year earns below uk avg wage....how is that not importing cheap labour?
i understand that you can argue 'ok but by their 3rd year they earn avg wage....but that doesnt seem to explain the first year?

i'm open to your hypothesis- but that's not what ur paper says; it specifically cites their low availability 'to hand' in a domestic setting.
it also talks about them on the street as lacking 'status'...but assuming pointed knives are unavailable that presumably changes.

thing is, according to zaid benjamin, trump has summoned abdullah bin hussein + sisi to washington next week....which would be quite an elaborate distraction

i'm really sorry guys, but @yuanyiz.bsky.social is just not a credible analyst on this issue- he's a dogmatic ideologue.
he doesn't even appear to understand the difference between having a right to do something and the means to do it.
total loon.
