You're eating a fine ground wheat paste with biomechanical leavening agents and topped with calorie-dense milk-based derivative, designed to be easy-prep in minutes by being prepared in a specialist device that literally spews of formaldehyde and carcinogens.

Sounds ultra-processed to me!

To be completely fair I doubt that the Ukrainian military is particularly woke.

(The trans girls designing their weapons systems probably are though)

Is restricting your best posts to bluesky some sort of incentive system?

Hi Liam, I'm afraid it's impossible to enjoy the original Star Wars trilogy outside of the context of the Disney Kenobi TV series.

It feels like a lot of the responses to the article have been a bit intellectually dishonest, tbh

Like yes, thank you for finally recognising the absurdity of the term 'African American' but are people just now going to pretend it isn't commonly understood as a euphemism for black?

The gap between black african and carribean brits is pretty persistent across multiple areas iirc, and it's a similar story for pakistani and indian brits.

Does make me wonder if there is an initial immigrant halo effect.

"No mum you did not 'discover' my porn collection! To discover something is to identify a phenomenon which is previously uncategorised by any other human, and as you can see this is already extensively categorised and has been reviewed countelss times! Honestly, pick up a book some time."

It's crazy how the founding fathers exactly foresaw the Trump administration and gave us the tools to defeat it.

It turns out you can get away with doing outrageous things if you keep doing them.

Eventually people get bored and...

There are actually some DAOs for reddit users to sell their individual data collectively.

(The proposed income allocation is via weighting income by reddit karma, which on the face of it seems like one of the most comically darkly dystopian concepts ever.)

Fortunately in many areas public experience is captured through survey data, which is fallible in it's own right, but serves as an important reference when considering these types of debates.
June 5, 2025 at 9:24 AM
I think there are cases where the majority individual experience can run contrary to macro trends, and in many cases the public perception alone can be an important aspect, but the nature of it is the discussion often just gets captured by discourse itself and self-referential spirals.

This is how I feel when string theorists are like "okay nut the maths works put if you model as having 13 different dimensions, but most are just really small" and you know, maybe?
