I just wanted to say that you're one of the better parts of BlueSky for me. Thanks for being you and for putting so much cool stuff that's near and dear to me onto my feed!

He's describing new tech as augmentative instead of substitutive, but that premise breaks down because capitalist society has never been able to outsource *thought* and labor that humans were uniquely qualified for before. Companies will choose greed over people.

It really is a great community that gives a lot back. Epic also stays engaged and are very charitable with their resources, and I think that deserves some praise.

Except it's usually trash that you have to go back and write from scratch anyway. These coding LLMs are StackOverflow with extra steps and anyone that thinks this is going to replace programmers clearly isn't a programmer.

Totally agree. AI art is a cop-out. You're forfeiting the opportunity to create the visual art in what is largely a visual medium. And chances are that you're generating art with a model trained on someone else's work without their consent.

Maybe it's just me, but Dreamcast games felt like they were in a wider world. I can't put my finger on it. The skyboxes or render distance? Idk.

It was the exact opposite of N64 games where I felt shut into this tiny, isolated box that nothing exists outside of. Maybe Zelda excluded.

Love everything about the aesthetic + music. I would 100% play this. If there's some kind of universal PC game storefront where I can indicate my desire to buy this game in the future I'll go do that.
