We're still in the first quarter of our rain/snow season... but that big early lead we built is starting to fade away, as we head into the second week of dry weather. High pressure not only has helped to keep the storms away, but also helped to lock in our foggy pattern of late. 11/30/2025

When the sunset across the Bay Area looks more like Tatooine (minus one Sun). High pressure & warmer air above acting like lid, trapping smoke / dust pollution. Also makes for a positive feedback loop for fog forming (act as tiny surfaces for water droplet formation) #weatherbasedStarWarsReferences

If you’ve been watching the college games near the Great Lakes today, then you know the 49ers road game outlook in Cleveland tomorrow looks very… wind chilled. @49ers #FTTB

Saturday fog/temp check: still foggy inland and still cool temps with hazy sunshine away from the inland low clouds. #CAwx 11/29/2025

More shaking, preliminary magnitude 3.2 earthquake near Colma, west of South San Francisco at 5:03 pm 11/28/2025 @nbcbayarea

‪Foggy air-conditioning remains undefeated. Yet another day of 40s and low 50s highs inland across the North Bay and East Bay valleys through the delta into Sacramento and the Central Valley. 11/28/2025 #CAwx‬

The weather equivalent of leftovers… lingering low clouds and fog-cooled temperatures will continue as we wrap up the holiday weekend. Meanwhile, holiday travel around the Great Lakes could get challenging, including a windy and cold outlook for the 49ers game 🥶 11/28/2025

Tis the season for fog-chilled temps. Condensation at ground level is easy to spot (dew, drops on cars etc) higher up particulates like smoke boost fog formation. High pressure (traps pollution) can sustain these conditions until we see more wind or storms return 11/27/2025 #CAwx

Bay Area fog machine: why your weather apps saying highs in the 60s and 70s for the valleys on Thanksgiving are off the mark. Light offshore breeze maintains the import of Central Valley fog keeping North Bay and East Bay valleys and inner bay temps mired in the 40s and 50s. #CAwx 11/27/2025

Series of earthquakes during the 12pm hour just south of San Juan Bautista. Light shaking intensity reported near Gilroy as weak shaking noted far north as San Jose, west to Monterey/Santa Cruz. 4.0, 3.9 and 2.7. @nbcbayarea 11/27/2025 #CAwx

Fog still looks to be the main impact on holiday travel plans locally… things get a little more interesting by the weekend with the potential for cooling, gusty wind and showers, stay tuned 11/23/2025
November 24, 2025 at 4:19 AM
Also into fog-chilled day time highs season...inland East Bay and North Bay valleys are prone to this as fog lingers into the afternoon. Low 50s Napa, across inland Contra Costa County approaching 3pm. This pattern will likely stick around through Thanksgiving #CAwx 11/23/2025

While not officially into Winter quite yet, our winter mode for fog is underway. Recent rain, clearing skies, light wind are perfect for Central Valley fog and we’ll see dense fog advisories to wrap up the weekend. Things could take a chilly turn toward the end of next week, stay tuned. 11/22/2025

Special marine warnings continue with strong wind, and some radar detected rotation near shore #CAwx 11/17/2025

Sideways rain with strong wind at our StormRanger San Bruno Mtn site, as a strong cold front (NCFR) moves through the region. Widespread rain should be mostly east before sunrise but lingering roadway impacts are likely, due to runoff from high rain rates per hour overnight. #CAwx 11/17/2025
November 17, 2025 at 8:23 AM
Special marine weather warnings continue for radar detected winds & rotation, including this cell approaching El Granada as of midnight #CAwx 11/17/2025
November 17, 2025 at 8:05 AM
11:30 PM radar update: special marine warnings continue, although taking on a bit more of an NCFR look, with radar detected rotation, not quite as strong as before (offshore Marin Co) peak, wind and rain with the line now through 2 AM. #CAwx 11/16/2025
November 17, 2025 at 7:34 AM
This area will be moving onshore across Marin County approaching 11pm #CAwx 11/16/2025
November 17, 2025 at 6:44 AM
10:30 PM radar update… stronger cells approaching the coast, those curvatures are usually indication of stronger wind gusts. Some special marine warnings might be possible as this moves onshore. #CAwx 11/16/2025
November 17, 2025 at 6:32 AM
8pm radar update: rain approaching the coast with some lightning at times. Still expecting peak rain rates and strong wind around midnight, followed by scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunder into Monday. 11/16/2025 #CAwx

November rain (🎸) vs. average: true, it is supposed to rain in November (one of the top 4 rain months) but we're running ahead of average and these numbers will certainly leap even more > average this week, thanks in large part to tonight's storm #CAwx 11/16/2025
November 17, 2025 at 2:37 AM
So far and next: Not your typical rainfall distribution from Saturday into early Sunday morning with top rain totals near San Jose and the South Bay. That area of low pressure near SoCal is lifting east, next storm bringing an intense cold front our way by midnight. 11/16/2025
November 17, 2025 at 2:36 AM
Plan on a stormy finish to the weekend 🚨 increasing wind and rain late evening and overnight as a fast moving but intense cold front moves through. We will likely see some localized runoff issues overnight w/ lingering impacts possible into the Monday morning commute. 11/16/2025
