To be a bit well actually I don't think Jim is reading this right. It did incredibly well in the UK, second biggest movie of the year. It's just it did STAGGERINGLY well in some other countries.

At some level I just have to accept what makes money in films in this era, is stuff at best I think is OK but mostly don't care for.
If you asked me if I wanted to watch any of this tonight I'd be, you know what, I'm quite enjoying working through Season 12 of the original series of Dr Who, thanks.

Yes obviously the Scientific Reform Society were fascists - and other than seeing Tom Baker, these villains were the best bit of the show - but it made me wonder if there was anything in early 70s Britain that was pushing for a science lead fascism that it was riffing off?

Watched the first ever Tom Baker Doctor Who story last night and I was sickened to see him driving Bessie. It's so wrong. I hate that disgusting yellow clown car.

Complaining that something only has four chords is one of those "knows a little bit about music" opinions that I've been guilty of at times. George writes a great melody on top, and performs it wonderfully and keeping the chords simple and looping showcases this instead of competing with it.

To give you a peak behind the scenes. What I've done is develop a small web app that can make stuff like this - so I can work on the templates inside the browser. It's very fun to muck around with. It's basically @clickbaitrobot.bsky.social 2.0 but with an easier interface for me to play with.

I'm quite pleased that fesshole has crept over 100k on Instagram. For better or worse my "post Twitter going fash" strategy is trying to post everywhere, eggs in every basket, all platforms are problematic to varying degrees (ask Mastodon what they think of Bluesky etc).
