Very happy they have realised this but I have to say it is painful watching this Gov finally admit the obvious. What were they doing for the last 15 months? Why can't they lead public opinion rather than follow it?

You smashed BBCQT Daisy, well done. We have to establish the link between Brexit and the boats, inflation, taxes, the devalued £. Keep up the good work.

Fudge.

Lettuce talk with Liz Truss.

Unpleasant facts we need to get our heads around:
1. Trump's America has clearly divvied up Ukraine with Putin and is withdrawing from NATO.
2. The UK Armed Forces are clearly woefully prepared for this eventuality (witness Ajax).
3. 3% of GDP on defence in the next parliament is cloud cuckoo land.

Consider this America. How many of your allies have joined you in blowing up boats without warning in the Caribbean Sea? Answer none. You know why? Well it is obviously illegal. It's not a war so they should be stopped and if necessary arrested. Blowing up survivors is even worse!

Daisy Cooper is 💯 correct.

These are the Brexit boats, we've had Johnson's Brexit immigration, the Brexit taxes, the Brexit inflation and the Brexit devaluation of the £.

They must be forced to face the facts.

That's it, I'm pulling a sicky.

Dealt with hundreds of kids like Faridge in my time. Bullies always walk the fine line of doubt over their actions but eventually the lies catch up. 'Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive.'

How should we reform the second chamber?

I like the idea of a Council of the Isles, 2 thirds elected by PR with one third made up of experts (ex generals, union leaders, captains of industry, head teachers etc). Maybe 250 members max.

This guy Christopher Harborne seems a very sinister character based simply on his Wikipedia entry:

Fossil fuel company ✔️
Crypto currency ✔️
Off shore tax exile ✔️
Companies that specialise in 'techno investments'✔️
Russian connections ✔️
Dual citizenship ✔️
Cambridge of course...

The President and his Defence Secretary are responsible for the conduct of the US Armed Forces. If a crime was committed (and it looks very likely one was) then they are directly responsible, no ifs, no buts.

The same people who are happy with the immigration figures coming down are unhappy with the ending of the child benefit cap. Who do they think is going to pay for their pension & healthcare? Unbelievable.

Angst about the end of Rome and our present West aside, I thought the Roman glass cup was the most extraordinary object. More beautiful than any treasure. Imagine finding something like that.

The railways played an important role in the Russian revolutions of 1917. A combination of strikes and the over commitment to military logistics meant that not enough freight was available to move food to feed the cities. History repeats.

Why isn't it? Because Labour are terrified of reopening the whole Brexit cesspit. If that happened they might have to take a side, you know, actually make a decision...

So that's not a denial.

The Trump doctrine is about spheres of influence. Venezuela is clearly in America's, Taiwan China's and Ukraine Russia's. Trump, Xi & Putin are playing a real life game of Risk seemingly unaware of what happens in that game once you do dominate your own continent.

I hope MI5 are watching the airports in case any more of these RefUKers try and run home to Moscow.
November 23, 2025 at 3:05 PM
The failure in the autumn of 2020 was even worse. Johnson dithered, listened to the Telegraph spouting nonsense, partied and failed to put in scheduled circuit breakers which directly led to a forced, longer and more deadly lockdown over Christmas & New Year.
November 22, 2025 at 11:20 PM
To what end? Unless the US are willing to deploy a large ground force the Venezuelans will simply hide out in the jungle and return when Trump gets bored with it. I'd be very surprised if the US generals don't know this and that makes it even worse.
