A bus service every 7-8 minutes for Barton, every 7-8 minutes for Kidlington and Oxford Parkway, and every 5 minutes for Blackbird Leys will kick in from 30 November with a raft of timetable changes by Stagecoach. Night buses will operate on all these routes until 3.30am on Friday/Saturday.

Buses are getting around Oxford faster as a result of the congestion charge, according to Oxford Bus Company. MD Luke Marion said “We’ve already seen encouraging improvements to traffic flow and bus journey times in the scheme’s first week.”

Oxfordshire County Council has been ranked the best county in England for actions taken towards reaching net zero. Climate Emergency UK assessed every council against up to 93 questions, giving them a right to reply. Oxfordshire’s total score was 64%, above 2nd place Cambridgeshire with 55%.

A previously unknown 13th-century manuscript has been saved for the nation by the Bodleian and is on display this weekend. The Old French translation of the New Testament belonged to Duke Humfrey, who gave his books to Oxford University 150 years before the Bodleian was founded.
