Any/All
I've always used the developer in the sense of software developer, as that's my main background. Though I'm aware that not everyone uses it in that sense specifically. I would say that we should have a broad term for everyone in the process.

That is fair. I hate the amount of articles like this that will act as if the only people who work on a game or are important to the development are the developers themselves

Everyone who works on a game is important and deserves recognition, the game wouldn't exist in its current form without them

The term "developer" itself is what I argue against being all inclusive.

Though I see your point. I do agree we need to recognise all the other aspects of game development as a whole, but at the same time "game developer" is too specific a term that's also annoyingly broad in how it's used.

Exactly, all parts of the team are of equal importance, but they aren't all the same and it's important to recognise that.

I think, as an industry we need to do more to recognise everyone who works on a game, everyone from marketing to art design, to sound design to QA. Everyone is equally important and should be recognised as such.

It's interesting to me that everyone is forgetting that a "Dev" is a role, not everyone who works on a game is a Dev, but that doesn't mean they aren't important. Silksong is 100% made by only 3 game Devs, but it's also made by a truckload of other people that are as important.

Infinite Hole Sim: Remix builds on the original game reworked into something larger, stranger, and just as infinite. Inside you’ll find:
- An ambitious Early Access roadmap that may or may not exist.
- Loot boxes available at a fair and reasonable price (for us).

You know, I say "notebook" like I have a single notebook of game dev ideas... There's like 5... Or more... Just sitting in random spots around my house... Ik there's like a few in a container under my desk, like 2 in my closet, and others elsewhere... I keep losing them and buy more lol

I'd play the absolute hell out of a game called nuclear mermaid Vikings.
