I kept warm this afternoon with a walk up to Parkamoor on the south east slopes of Coniston Water. Spectacular air clarity 😊

Between Wetherlam and Swirl How in the Coniston Fells, Black Sails is often overlooked, but today as the setting sun just illuminated the summit, it was impossible to ignore 😊

Eglwys Llanbadrig near Cemaes Bay, the oldest church in Wales. Thought to be the place where St Patrick came ashore after being shipwrecked on his way from Iona to Ireland.

The Cemaes Bay Tide Bell. Rung by the high tide (and the odd curious tourist😂) it is a public artwork that was installed in 2014.

Some very different views from Coniston today. I’ve never been to this place before, it was steep, rocky, covered in gorse, bramble and Bracken. I don’t expect to revisit, but the views were something a little different from the usual.

The Coniston Launch making ripples as it leaves Brantwood this misty afternoon. And a little further up the path towards Lawson Park, an old Lakeland barn.
