I remember being horribly disappointed by this one. It was the movie that made me realize the fun of the eighties was really over. (I’ve watched it a couple times since to see if it’s any better. It will always just be a “meh” flick for me.)

I actually wanted to do the video with Vincent in the tree behind me, but he refused to climb in it. He’s been jumping in and out of it all month.

One of the more bizarre slashers, definitely influenced more by H.G. Lewis than John Carpenter. Why does the main cop scream all his lines? Brad Carter wrote an excellent novelization that’s a must read for fans of the flick.

What a great flick! This was my birthday movie that year and we saw it the weekend after we saw Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving. It was so much fun and one of the better time travel slashers.

I’ve seen Body Chemistry, but I need to find Lower Level.

I believe director Kristine Peterson got Body Chemistry after directing the slasher Deadly Dreams (with Juliette Cummins) for a direct to video movie package Corman put together. She worked in a lot of great movies in the 80’s and 90’s like Chopping Mall and Tremors.

I remember really enjoying The Pool when it came out, but it has been a long time since I’ve seen it. I need to give it a rewatch to see if it still holds up. (The “blade in the slide tunnel” they did here was taken to the next level in 2019’s Aquaslash.)

Two different vibes that would make an enjoyable double feature.

I have to ask- do you watch the movies as they play or do you read between reels?

I have to find this now!
