Per Kroman’s article, she met with Amazon reps last week and so there’s a bridge being built. Jon Scholes will also help build those bridges. I don’t think she needs to have people from Amazon or the Chamber on the transition team in order to be able to have constructive dialogue with those groups.
Seattle’s next mayor is willing to meet with anyone, including Trump
Katie Wilson wants a mayor's office that reaches out proactively, that has open lines to grassroots organizations and that builds political support from the ground up.

I also think that had Biden not allowed a few Dems to sabotage Build Back Better and instead ensured it became law, the political response would have been good too. BBB had a lot in it that would have tackled cost of living issues and continued the child tax credit.

I don’t think this is about trying to appeal to opponents. It’s about a preexisting policy alignment on a single issue. It’s not like Wilson is going to let Scholes decide wage or labor policy. More here:
Ehhh. If they’re willing to help Wilson implement her agenda that’s totally fine. Progressives have worked with them and the Chamber on comp plan stuff all year long. Wilson is certainly not going to listen to them on wages or taxes. But where there’s alignment I think it’s good to collaborate.

Exactly. We need to prioritize quick delivery of projects, which also helps cut down on costs. Standardized stations help too.

Every time I go back to OC I ask myself this (and my son does, just more loudly and incessantly). And then I remember all the time spent in the car and the traffic and lack of walkability and decent transit. It didn’t have to be that way, it wasn’t that way 100 years ago, and we can fix it.

They could have recruited a progressive working class type who doesn’t bring Platner’s baggage. Instead they pushed those folks away and focused on Mills.
