Day 75-77 #100DaysOfGameDev
Overtime at work has cut into game dev, so I’m working on balance. Still made progress! Smoothed transitions, refined the window animation, and added music to enhance the atmosphere. Slower progress, but staying at it!

Day 73-74 #100DaysOfGameDev
Made great progress over the past two days! Added a window animation to recharge the ghost’s moonlight, smoothed out transitions, and ensured buttons are disabled while the progress bar refills.

Day 72 #100DaysOfGameDev
Added a fan animation that plays when the button to clear the room of miasma is pressed.

Day 71 #100DaysOfGameDev
Updated the logic so that when any of the progress bars fall below 75%, the little ghosty switches to an unimpressed expression 🎭. Once all bars are back above 75%, it returns to its normal expression.

Day 70 #100DaysOfGameDev
Miasma gradually builds up in your ghosts room, and you’ll need to help them clear it out (fan animation coming soon). They also crave moonlight now and then...maybe through a window or a special moon lamp?

Day 69 #100DaysOfGameDev
I added a few new expressions for the little ghost buddy! Also implemented functionality where the progress bars gradually drain over time and can be refilled by pressing the corresponding buttons.

Day 68 #100DaysOfGameDev
Yesterday, I created this ghost animation, and today, I integrated it into this basic layout of my virtual pet project. I really like this little guy!

Day 64 #100DaysOfGameDev
Added an end-turn button to my project which for now only prevents the player from drawing additional cards until pressed. Planning to spend tomorrow refactoring my code and then getting a plan together for implementing enemy cards.

Day 63 #100DaysOfGameDev
I updated it so that the card preview still works after locking a card into a slot. I also adjusted the card drawing mechanic so that whenever you draw cards, you always get enough to bring your hand back up to five.

Day 61 & 62 #100DaysOfGameDev
Spent the last two days building a card preview mechanic that shows a large copy of the current card. The biggest challenge was handling the dynamic text, which isn't part of the card art.

Day 60 #100DaysOfGameDev
Added unique cards and card-flipping mechanics today, bringing me back to the progress I had before restarting due to the lack of version control!

Day 59 #100DaysOfGameDev
Implemented a deck system that allows players to draw cards.

Day 58 #100DaysOfGameDev
Implemented card hand functionality where cards auto-align and snap back if misplaced. I’m eager to get prototypes in front of people but need to balance that with ensuring my code remains clean and maintainable.

Day 57 #100DaysOfGameDev
Implemented card slots into my project today. I also, with the help of @cardboardmoon.itch.io, was able to switch my handle to be my @itch.io domain!

Day 56 #100DaysOfGameDev
Added a hover effect to enlarge cards slightly and figured out the bug that caused me to restart the project. I'm still going to keep going with this new version because the code I'm writing this time is much cleaner.

Day 55 #100DaysOfGameDev
I'm honestly feeling good about restarting this project with the addition of using version control this time. I'm already learning a lot by refactoring and writing better comments for all my previous code.

Day 54 #100DaysOfGameDev
Worked on some temporary card art and improving the layout...also I broke the code and haven't been using version control so that is cool. Will pretty much have to start from scratch tomorrow. Lesson learned.

Day 53 #100DaysOfGameDev
Paper prototyping went better then expected! While there's still a lot of work to do on the mechanics and rules, I feel confident enough to start transitioning into prototyping in #Godot.

Day 51 #100DaysOfGameDev
I've finished adding the deck draw functionality to my project. I'm considering making a paper prototype of the game to iterate on gameplay mechanics more efficiently. Has anyone here ever used paper prototyping in their process before?

Day 49 #100DaysOfGameDev
Today, I added functionality for cards to snap back into place if not properly placed in an open slot. I also made the hand condense automatically when a card is removed.

Day 47 #100DaysOfGameDev
Over the past few weeks, I’ve learned a lot from my RPG project. However, I’ve realized it’s too ambitious for my current goals, so I’m starting a smaller card game project that aligns better with my ideas.

Day 45 #100DaysOfGameDev
I decided to work on this Little Owl (Athene noctua) art today since I'm feeling under the weather, and tackling my turn-based battle system felt a bit overwhelming.
