Former runner, former paramedic, former biochemist, former Director of Communications, former instructor, former young person. Still he/him/nerd.

Working on a hard but fun SF novel about the science involved in the search for life.
I'd try it. That's not saying much.

There are many recipes with lamb, garlic, and anchovies.

Who else has to eat it? Are they adventuresome?

I'm probably doing that for Tuesday dinner. Thanks!

Looks awesome!

Malliard reaction. She had us hooked. Extra food for preteen boys didn't hurt.

When my mom had a massive brain bleed and nearly died, me knowing how to cook helped us get through it

I still love cooking. My wife says I cook like a chemist. But she loves it!

In 6th grade, the Home Ec teacher saw four budding scientists enter her 1 quarter cooking class for boys. The girls took 1 quarter of shop.

I think someone gave her a heads up on us.

She explained that cooking was chemistry. We would learn to read a meniscus, denature proteins, and the

Looks awesome. Do you have a recipe (or at least major ingredients)?

Sad question. Did even one Republican elected official object?

One of the lectures at the Westinghouse Science Honors Institute that Nancy and I met at was about that type of people mover. They discussed linear acceleration to and linear deceleration after the halfway point and consideration of passengers. That would have been ’75-’76.

Mein Deutsch ist am bestens schwach. Meint schimmlig "moldy"?
November 16, 2025 at 1:13 PM

I may be naive.

I don't care who.I don't think anyone in the rank and file of either party does.

Biden could have released the information. Trump could have released the information.

They are protecting powerful people. Do they believe these people are too powerful to fail?
November 12, 2025 at 5:41 PM
I suspect most Republicans would consider that to be a stupid deal.

"Second most trusted news source."

1. Thank you to the British.
2. That's not a high bar to get over.
November 11, 2025 at 12:21 PM
Ich muss etwas Salzig haben. Scharfe Würstchen? Kimchi Pfannkuchen? Mit Sauerraum?

Ich kenne das Wort für "Kimchi" nicht. Verstehen Sie Kimchipfsnnkuchen, wie Kartoffelpfannkuchen, aber mit Kimchi?

Koreanisches Sauerkraut?

She's a WUSTL alumni. Now I'm doubly upset!
November 11, 2025 at 11:34 AM
I don't know where to begin asking what this means and what import it has.

I have a terrible feeling this means either a) genetic regulation is such a massive topic I can't follow everything, b) I'm old and out of date, or c) all of the above.

It sounds like it is interesting.

🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😞

But the first two were artificial!

What can we do to get the $4.2 trillion into the hands of the 400?
November 3, 2025 at 2:53 PM
Thank you. You're like the officers I worked with as a paramedic in the '80s and '90s. They'd be horrified by what goes on today.

Almost all of them are retired. Sigh

That makes more sense! Thank you.

Does NAR stand for the National Association of Rocketry? (Joke!)
