I had this conversation with my 16-year-old at the start of this year because they push universities starting in grade 11 I said right now you have no idea what you wanna be and at 30 you’re gonna change what you wanna be so don’t worry and don’t stress

Yup, use the model of biding a nanny out in the 80/90s, if you wanted it done you got a book, read how to do it, and a bunch a friends drank and did it, trial and error, those same kids that watched that happen, are the ones doing it now, but it’s not being taught

And with youth in the 22 and under bracket, never actually experiencing a full days work, the expectation is it’s easy, Google will tell, me or it should be given to them as a teacher you’re going to see a sharp difference from kids whose parents are in their 40s now to something else in a few yesrs

Fair, but those socially acceptable norms push, that a trade is below respectable, my kids can wire the house, do plumbing, and change a tire, most adults call someone, and base their version on what they get, which sadly is a retiring aged out profession
