Hey Mike, will teams that aren't in the playoff hunt be more likely than normai to trade and dump salary this year compared to a non contract year? Will the lock out possibility alter the way they do business or will it be business as usual?

LA's weather put's them over the top every time.
January 17, 2026 at 4:42 PM
They've got a good line up to start the season. Let's see where they are in the summer when the trade deadline looms.

Works in the NHL and thats why it's so competitive.

What's your solution? Or is there a problem from your perspective?
January 16, 2026 at 7:35 AM
NHL not to the degree as in the MLB.

MLB big market teams always spend at the top but a reasonable cap might force a signing elsewhere if one wants to get paid. It's great to see a Baltimore do what they did. Pittsburgh tried and maybe they would have landed in a cap scenario. Find a balance.

Only a select few markets can do it. I don't know what the solution is Mike. Expand the playoffs even more to give more teams a chance? I wouldn't mind it. Anything can happen then.

I like the NHL because of the salary cap. It makes the league competitive. Strategy instead of blank cheques.

Dodgers doing what they have to do at whatever the cost to protect the Ohtani era with the supporting cast of superstars that will keep them in the limelight for years. Makes sense but I don't think it's healthy for the league overall in terms of competitiveness. Salary cap/floor needed? Maybe.
January 16, 2026 at 5:27 AM
I don't even think Bellinger is worth the money. Would rather have Bichette's bat but that ship may have sailed. The AL East is going to be super competitive no doubt.
January 16, 2026 at 5:13 AM
I'm not even upset. That is an absolute ridiculous amount the Dodgers handed out. Tucker isn't even that marketable of player to generate a return on a contract like that. The best move off the offseason I still believe is the signing of Okamoto and that seems like a steal at this point.

Am I the only one that want's a trade for a legit closer? Are we really going to rely on Hoffman for the role again this year?
January 7, 2026 at 4:14 PM
So happy to be legit in the Japanese market. This move could bode well for future signings. Japanese eyes on the Jays. Front office made a fantastic decision here.
January 3, 2026 at 9:24 PM
Japanese advertising revenue in Toronto will pay for that contract multiple times over. Bargain.

Not to mention the Japanese baseball fanbase and league with eyes on Toronto with one of their all stars playing for the Jays.

No doubt one of the smartest decisions of the off season for the Jays imo.

I am really excited for this signing. Even more so than a possible reunion with Bo. Now let's land Tucker and call it a day.
January 3, 2026 at 7:25 PM
I like it. Jays needed that push into the Japanese market. There could be alot of good marketing potential with Okamoto. Look for some Japanese advertising around Rogers Centre this year 😀

Waiting on Kyle Tucker and Bichette.
December 9, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Were you able to ask about a possible reunion with Mad Max or Bassit in a non starter roll?
December 9, 2025 at 1:44 AM
Robert Suarez isn't going to sell extra tickets but Edwin Diaz certainly will.
December 8, 2025 at 8:20 PM
I see my Rogers bill increase for network improvements are being put to good use .🤣
December 6, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Edwin Diaz incoming. Please.
December 6, 2025 at 8:03 PM
I will attend alot more games in person if they somehow sign Edwin Diaz to be the closer. I will even move my mobile service over to Rogers 🤣
December 4, 2025 at 3:39 AM
Tucker and Diaz or Bichette and Diaz or Tucker, Bichette and a less expensive closer.

I will be attending more games in person if Diaz is the closer though.
