I shall not be upgrading the current instances I have of FF, and shall be retaining WF as my main browser.
Chrome of course has no place on any of my systems and is disabled on the one Android instance that isn't rooted so I could remove it.

That's an interestingly vague article Ali. Tks.

Very interesting and also useful. Have read intro; will read rest later. But I do have a question
Do we in the UK have a current strict definition of what is or is not an administration? How far divorced from government must an agency or body be for it to no longer form part of the administration?

Also: you need a book of physics for dogs, especially tidal beach physics :-)

In this case it's a perfectly timed birthday present for @ deniselaurentart dot bsky dot social - another artist but of the animal portrait variety so I'm not in the least bit concerned by the delay. Was just yanking an available chain in a cat-like manner :-)

I've had a go at them several times this year about their continuing egregious over-estimates. They keep telling me they'll sort it and then things go quiet for a few weeks. Until the next time.
Seriously considering moving elsewhere.

Q: What quantum of dimness is smaller than a cluon?
A: a Truss!

Ordered!
Though delivery on 17/1/26 is hardly a Christmas item :-)

I wonder what @alistairk.bsky.social thinks of all this?

Pah, 2Tb is so last year. 4Tb and up is the future :-)

Now all you need is a pet exercise wheel to power it all.

I said that was the *last* email I sent. I've previously used all of the addresses you publish on your web site.

But thanks for the effort.

Subject: Giving LNHS membership as a gift

Hi

There's no way on the web site for me to give someone membership of the society.

How do I do that?

Robert Neuschul.

Then your email system is faulty: I have the receipt from when I sent them email. And I *do* know what I'm talking about here: have been running email systems commercially for more than 40 years for other people, handling upwards of half a million addresses at a time.

1] show where what I said was incorrect.
2] you haven't owned the problem.
3] you haven't offered me a solution, you've continued to offer me things that provably didn't/don't work.

I'm slightly irritated because you're still frustrating my attempts to deal with your organisation.

BT, DT. No response of any kind from that email address.
In passing, the web site gives the same email for both enquiries and mail to president etc etc. And yes: I do know how all that works..

I emailed a couple of weeks ago.
However your reply here still misses the point. Your forms do not allow for membership gifting and there's no indication anywhere on the current web site that you even understand the concept of gifting. Which is exactly what my email said.

Not entirely true: whilst USSR is indeed just a new name for the Empire, Lenin/Trotsky overthrew Kerensky's people's government.
Whether they sought to make a difference is open to argument: I would say they didn't even try: they simply tried a new form of central government with them in charge.

TBH, I don't care what they look like. I care how they and the network they run on actually functions. Afaiac, spending money on paint jobs is wasting money when there are far more important things to spend money on: like improving access for those with disabilities, or improving staff training ....

When you say

"The republicans have managed to do this to us, to the world, in les than a year."

You show yourself to be a part of the problem.

It's not the GoP that did this and they didn't do it in a year.

All of the USA conspired to do this over the last century.
