Our paper with @sgoulas.bsky.social and Panagiotis Sotirakopoulos has been published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS)!

Using an online survey-based randomized experiment, we ask: do teachers perceive all top-performing students as equally influential role models?

Our findings highlight how classroom dynamics influence academic & career trajectories, particularly for disadvantaged students.

We all came together in person at @monashuniversity.bsky.social & worked non-stop for a week to finish this project 🥂🥳\

Very excited to share a new working paper with @yveszenou.bsky.social, @silviagriselda.bsky.social, & Sofoklis Goulas. We ask the following question: How do disruptive peers shape academic & career outcomes? We examine the effects of peer disruptiveness on academic performance & long-term outcomes.

When weekdays aren’t enough, and weekends find you in the office with three great coauthors who happen to be in town, making for a fun and productive time (if only the air conditioning had been working in the MBA lounge).

Yesterday and today we had the Monash Institutional Barriers to Equity Workshop in CBD.

We had a lovely session today in which I presented new, novel, and exciting work on religiosity-based bias in education!

I am honoured and delighted to have been awarded an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project grant for my 3-year project: "Women in STEM: The Longer-Term Effects of Teachers." My message to fellow researchers out there is: never give up!
