The story of this game is the penalties. Three of four US goals came on the PP. The time shorthanded broke Canada’s momentum in the second and third periods.

After the first Canada was the better team 5v5 but they didn’t spend much time at even strength.

Canada’s lack of discipline is really hurting them. That hit by Cowan is over the top and unnecessary. Playing tough is one thing. Taking bad penalties is another.

Better period from Canada other than the penalties. Stretching the ice and playing faster is producing chances.
