Creating separations in the file system also maintains context while coding. When using the file explorer or command palette, I know what type of component it is by looking at the path.

FWIW, the "island" nomenclature and file extensions really helped create a clearer mental model for me.

More so in Fresh, where island components get their own directory. For me, these subtle separation cues, helps emphasise that they are different.
