Enjoyed the subtle inclusion of sci-fi in Shadow of the Torturer. Contraptions 'powered by lighting' society didn't really understand, etc. Some of the prose I found creepy towards women but the world was good & Terminus Est was cool, as was the Guild itself. Now to something much Moore recent.

Moore is my favourite, but having a favourite doesn't mean thinking they're the best & my word this guy is the *ultimate* 007. He embodies everything that made the previous actors' versions great. Just look at him. That's James Bond.

Then we went to see one of my very favourite films, The Thing, at the Light cinema. Not only was it not too gory (I was a bit worried when the BBFC card emphasized 'strong violence' and 'gore'!) for them, but they really enjoyed it!
