My dad had flat feet & was deaf in one ear, but he did not use them to dodge the draft. Instead of combat, during the Korean War he (a musician) was assigned to serve conducting a USO chorus in Baltimore.

When he returned from war, he had "shell shock," the early name for PTSD. My dad said Zig woke screaming most nights. Ziggy would spend the rest of his 87 years suffering from PTSD & depression, but never was considered a disabled veteran.
