I’m going to say that sadly a lot of conversations I have in education reveal that many many people agree with reform.

I think we should be wary of accessibility claims that actually if you scratch the surface are mostly “kids can learn at home with an online tutor from Oak”. I’d also say there are many many homes that would be very risky to put a livestream into because of who might use that to get “access”.

I do think it needs more explanation than the headline suggests, equally there are huge data protection issues around having cameras in classrooms and who might get access to that live stream.

Yeah pls sit with your big feelings for 3 hours and then endure a weekend of everyone sending congratulations texts while they assume you have been spoken to about how it will all work with a new adult in your home

I was once told at channel 4 that we couldn’t do a very simple focus group activity that I’ve done elsewhere, because the daily fail would hate it. I gave up arguing because I realised the people saying that often liked the daily fail which was a bigger issue

I feel that “evidence” has always been “what a white man on Twitter said “, things have changed so much it has been years since someone discussed actual research in a school I’m in. It is allllwaysss some book or EEF blog. Cult of personally which works well with tech hype

I would rather we focussed on community off social media such as via meetups, blogs etc. I hear what you are saying about Twitter and I don’t disagree but it was always a bubble that a LOT of people never touched. And it now still has outsize influence. But I know what you mean. We need community
