One part of my “survivor’s distraction kit” is intense/ beautiful scents/flavors. A favorite is lime, so I splurged on some Ojai Bearss limes. Made a tiny batch of lime curd yesterday. The flesh of the limes is so green they look completely unreal. And the curd is at the edge of chartreuse. 1/3
Green limes with the ends cut resting on a cutting board. One of the limes has been cut in half lengthwise. The flesh of all the limes is so richly green it almost looks fake. A photo of a rich deep yellow custardlike lime curd being stirred with a bright blue silicone spatula. A tear of the curd is dripping off the edge of the spatula and shreds of the green rind can be detected in the mix.

Dealing w/a stomach flu but also trying to help Spouse w/a new dog crate … b/c Sammi decided to ‘Kool-Aid man’ his way out of a *coated steel wire crate*. Dog’s fine, but he broke through actual steel wire of the crate, not a door or a join point.

He’s not called “Sammi go Bammie” for nothin.

It’s Kizu’s 11th birthday! (According to the documents we got from her rescue org, back in 2015.) She has already had some birthday turkey & we’re planning some low-impact playtime outside.

Sooo among his other neurological issues, Sammi has RBD (he doesn’t experience REM atonia). He just kicked himself off the couch & WHAM, onto his back…so the dog bed fell on top of him. I tried to get a photo but poor boop started struggling so I helped him instead. Here’s a photo for the algo

Kizu was VERY good at the emergency vet. Mx Barbarian’s laser beam noises weren’t half as bad as usual! We’re back home w/antibiotics for an infection.
