Also, there's the claim that defection means MPs could be supporting a different set of policies to the ones they were elected to support. But we have already established that there is scarcely any difference between the Tories and Reform.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Govt response will be that historically we have voted for a person, not a party, and that's not going to change.

Quite so. I found myself away from home where the choices for lunch were basically Greggs or McDonalds. Found out that day that I'm not as Northern as I thought. Allegedly.

I was at the equivalent show at Wembley. The set by Santana was one of the worst things I ever heard. I think he was a bit cross at being lower down the running order than UB40, who were later booed.

Years ago, comparing notes with my wife. I had been amazed to see my cousin's 8-track cartridge player. I'd not seen one in ages, never seen one in a house before, just in car stereos. My wife was boggled to see their Betamax player. Pretty sure they are the sort who would have bought a squarial.

Well, they now have another chance! The BBC has lost rights to England in the Six Nations, but will be able to broadcast matches of the other home nations. So the re-balance will start, just not in the way the BBC was hoping.
